- 1/2 Cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1/3 Cup Molasses
- 1 3/4 Cup sifted flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt

- 1/3 Cup raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
