- 500 g Cauliflower
- 70 g Flour
- 45 g cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 3/4 teaspoon red chili powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 120 ml water
- 60 g Panko
Instructions to make Gobi Manchurian
- Preheat the oven to 200
- Cauliflower: Mix together the flour, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, Chili powder and salt. Gradually pour in the water and whisk.
- Dip the cauliflower in the batter + Panko
- Bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Check and bake another 15-20 minutes.
- Sauce: Mix the soy sauce, Chili sauce, ketchup, sugar, sesame oil and vinegar. In another bowl, mix the cornstarch and water.
- Heat up the oil. Add the ginger, garlic and peppers. Cook for 1 minute and then add the Shallot, Scallions, green Bell pepper and seasoning. Cook for 3 minutes ('til it smells good)
- Add the sauce and stir fry for 1 minute. Mix the cornstarch again and add it to the pan. Stir until the sauce becomes glossy and thickens.
- Coat the cauliflower in sauce (at room temperature) and garnish with cilantro and Scallions.
